This Day

This day has not been that good,
Not thinking I can do anything right,
I mean when I woke up this morning,
I looked out the window, it was still night
Glancing over at my alarm clock,
It was telling me that it was only four,
So I plumped myself down onto the bed,
But instead of getting tired, I just became bored,
Finally, my body has decided to go to sleep,
Then my alarm clock decides to yell at me,
So I got up and head to brush my teeth,
Grrr, my toothpaste tube has gone empty,
So I decide I will hop into the shower,
There is nothing but cold water that flows,
How much worse could this day really get,
Someone better warn me that knows,
It is now time to head to math class,
My car keys are no where in sight,
It seems like I have looked everywhere,
This day nothing is going right,
I finally find out where I left the keys,
It’s the one place where I didn’t look,
The place that is right next to the door,
They were hanging from the key hook,
I just barely make it to class on time,
Thinking that the bad day is done,
But I end up grabbing the wrong book,
Oh man, I have a feeling it’s just begun,
At lunch, the sandwich I get is burnt,
And the fries were in the grease too long,
But I can’t let this bring me down,
I am going to get through this strong,
At supper, they cooked everything right,
It just there were no ketchup for the fries,
I still ate all the supper I was given,
But I left the cafeteria very unsatisfied,
I get to my room and turn on the TV,
It’s something that has always been my friend,
It was then I remembered the big game was on,
So I then quickly turned it to ESPN,
Since the weather was really bad that night,
The satellite had absolutely no signal,
Boy, what a day this has been,
Everything in it was completely dull,
This day has completely wiped me out,
I think it’s time for me to go to bed,
Tomorrow better be a better day,
If not, I’ll probably go crazy in the head.

The Snowman

Hey I really need your help,
It’s too big and round for me,
I need to put this on there,
With you, it won’t be too heavy,
I’ve been working on this all day,
And I am almost done with it,
I just hope the top hat I got,
For his head will be a perfect fit,
I got the two perfect sticks,
To put on both sides of his,
I got the carrot for his nose,
That is something I can’t miss,
I got a scarf not used at home,
It’s something to keep him warm,
I brought some buttons for him,
So his face can be formed,
It is so fun to create a snowman,
It really puts a smile on your face,
So when there’s snow on the ground,
Make a big snowman at your place,

No Name

Just a few years ago he was a no name,
People never talked about him doing good,
He didn’t really want to work very hard,
As hard as everyone knew that he could,
He was going to be one of those wrestlers,
That we hoped wouldn’t give up a fall,
He wasn’t one who always got pinned,
Just one who wouldn’t win the medal,
He started working out like a beast,
On the mat he was starting to be too,
People would say that he is too rough,
But his name everybody now knew,
He has experienced lots of pain,
His knees are not in the best shape,
He’s split his head so bad before,
That he ended up having to have it taped,
His aggressive style turns crowds against him,
He does whatever he can to get his win,
He is just as aggressive at the end of the match,
As he is when the match is about to begin,
There isn’t hoping he gives up points anymore,
In close meets, we hope his match is very last,
Because we got all the confidence in him,
That he can pin his opponent pretty fast.

Shape Of Their Eyes

Everyone labels people wrong too often,
Just because of the shape of their eyes,
Doesn’t matter what the color their skin is,
We tend to criticize how they live there lives,
Whether it’s because of how different they are,
Or what the other kind has done to you,
You act like everyone of a kind is out to attack,
And you tend to neglect the respectable few,
Then you who look at the color and decide,
Tell me why you say they are so guilty,
Do not tell me “ They are of a different race,”
You will never make that an excuse to me,
Before you go and judge the other kind,
Personally try to get to know each one,
Because you might be surprised the outcome,
You might find them to be a lot of fun.

A True Champion

His career started with people saying “You can’t,”
Just to prove them all wrong was his dream,
So he sat down and worked on some goals,
Some were impossible for him to reach it seemed,
When he started people kept putting him down,
Some went so far to even laugh in his face,
He knew if he put in the time that he needs,
Those laughing will say he deserves his place,
He started reaching smaller goals that were easy,
He struggled with goals that knocked him down
But when people noticed he kept getting up,
The noticed a true champion from a nobody was found.

Not Only For Himself

He could do nothing but sit there,
While leaning back against the wall,
Just thinking of what just happened,
How could he ever give up that fall,
He spent days running around a mat,
Spent nights thinking about his dream,
Wanting to be completely prepared,
Not only for himself, but for his team.

A Star

A star is something special,
As it shines for all to see,
A star is nothing special,
All look the same to me,
When looking from far away,
It is just a spot in the sky,
It blends with those around it,
It is not different to your eye,
As you get closer to the star,
An attraction starts to appear,
The star just pulls everybody in,
It has a warmer feel as you get near,
The attraction is so powerful,
It pulls in both beauty and bad,
In the warmth of its presence,
It is hard to be feeling sad,
It does this without even trying,
There is nothing special about a star,
But the closer you are to reaching one,
It will forever change who you are.

Power of Hail

Have you felt the power of hail,
It’s like a hammer hitting a nail,
They very in sizes,
We won’t really like their surprises,
They got an advantage,
If they want to do some damage,
They are very tough,
They say when it’s enough,
They really hate you,
That’s why it attacks very few,
They think it’s funny,
When you lose your money,
They could damage your fence,
Your car would have dents,
If the wind blows,
They could shatter your windows,
In an instant flash,
They will make vehicles crash,
They will cause death,
Just in a single breath,
If it wasn’t for their big rest,
Their power would be the best.

Loves To Camp

Do you love to camp,
Even if the ground is dry or damp,
The air is so fresh,
Perfect place for kids to get in a mess,
There’s plenty of time to fish,
So you can put it on a dish,
Kids are looking toward,
When it’s time to cook smores,
Camping is so great,
So go before it’s too late.

Superman

He would never take the easy path,
Earning everything that he needs,
Doing everything a hundred percent,
Showing it to everyone he leads,
Looking up to him while growing up,
He teaches you many life lessons,
We’ve done many stupid things,
He taught me to use them to strengthen,
He’s done so much for me in my life,
There is no way I could ever repay,
Sometimes I wonder what he would do,
If I need him whenever he is away,
There was one time he slid in a spill-way,
He slipped and broke his kneecap,
The next day with his knee all swollen,
At a baseball game he got up to bat,
Spent hours working out on the mat,
Spent hours running in the gym,
Dedicated his days to become great,
Making it easier to get the big win,
Showing young wrestlers the basics,
Teaching take down, escapes, and rides,
It’s something he’s very good at,
Something that he has a lot of pride,
Working construction he always loved,
Even when he was digging with a spade,
He really loved working with the backhoe,
He earned all the money he was paid,
On his way to watch the big football game,
He lost control of the car on a gravel road,
Not buckled up when he went in the ditch,
Ended up out of the car when it rolled,
This man who’s done a lot for everyone,
Has everyone praying for him to stay alive,
The doctors are telling his parents,
That he doesn’t have a chance to survive,
My brother is slowly getting better,
There’s been a big setback since this began,
But he is showing everybody,
How an average person can be Superman.
